Argyle Dam....on the way to Zebra Rock Mine....

As we headed for Zebra Rock we stopped off at Argyle Dam and the meeting of the Ord River.  Felt like we should seeing we were in the area and we were treated to a very brave Whistling Kite continually returning to the same rock.  Some much controversy over this dam (inland sea) and the Ord…..who do you listen to?

Mum wanted a photo of the dam wall....her and my interest in shots are very different.  She likes pictures of plaques....I think it's old people.

Leaving Kununurra also meant returning to the Northern Territory and leaving Western Australia….I think our next trip (in about another decade) will be up the west coast….I miss the ocean too much.  There is so much energy from passing tourists who are bound for Broome and the west coast trip home.  I think I would love Western Australia. Next time.

  1. loving your giant leap and the bird of prey - osprey? I don't like big dams in general, I think there's a sadness about them, all that flooded country just doesn't feel right.
